Vincent Decat is a Paris-based craft designer who graduated from Design Academy of Eindhoven in 2023 and focuses on the relation between design, art and sculpture.
His approach to design revolves around creating pieces that last. He believes durability comes from the emotional connection we have with things. The more we care about them, the more we protect and hold onto them. To encourage this bond, he gives his pieces a life of their own, a personality, so people can see them as little pets, companions they cherish, keep over time, and consider friends. Just as a childhood comfort object can become a lifelong friend, he hopes his work will feel familiar and alive, with subtle, creature-like qualities that invite attachment over time.
